Topic: Being honest about motherhood: The good, the bad, and the ugly After 12 years of being a mother, I have realized that society only wants to hear about the ups of motherhood but they could actually care less about it. And as women, we have adapted to it. Our classic answer when asked how we are doing and how motherhood is treating us fine, its great, it's so amazing. but in reality, we haven't gone to the bathroom alone in years, slept for more than 2 hours at a time in ages or had a proper meal that didn't consist of your kids' leftovers and the chocolate you ate in the pantry. That is why I was super excited to get Sumaira on the show and talk about her articles about motherhood. She keeps it real and it's so refreshing to finally be able to have someone who is of the same faith who is so honest about motherhood. In this episode, we talked about some of the articles from Sumaira's website * WHY SELF LOVE AND SELF CARE ARE IMPORTANT FOR MOTHERS * WHY YOU SHOULD NOT TELL A MOTHER SHE’S TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE, * I’M A MOM WHO HATES COOKING & BAKING Sumaira Zaheer has a degree in Strategic Management and Organization from the University of Alberta, is a writer, and also a blogger. She has written about motherhood for Productive Muslim, Islamic Online University, Muslim Kids Guide, the BabyCenter blog, as well as other sites. Her main focus is writing for her own blog, www.themuslimahmommy.com, where she shares her tips and advice for parents, but also shares her experiences as a Muslimah mother raising her four children in Canada.
